Temptation

Please, leave that Demon in me, asleep.
Don't awaken that Dragon of desire.
I am content in my ignorance.
Blissfully happy in my lacking.
To awaken that part of me
only serves as a distraction ...
A temporary power that in the end, devours.
I am more than the sum of my passions.
More than my appetites.
Yes, I see you nodding your head in agreement.
I also see that glint of curiosity in your eyes.
I can hear the murmur in the back of your mind.
In my complexity,
it's quite simple.
Believe me I when say,
"Let me sleep."
