Roo's Discovery - part two
Roo looked at me, tears still hanging from his long eye lashes.
"There is only one Tigger and one Pooh. And Roo, there is only one You! I don't think
that makes you different, as much as that makes you special. There is no one whose feet
are as big as yours, and no one's tail as long."
Roo interrupted me, "Oh Blue Eyes, my Mom's feet are bigger and her tail is longer!"
I did laugh then and hugged Roo tightly.
"Well, that's true Roo and that's what makes Kanga special too."
Roo giggled and hugged me back.
"Half of the joy in life, is discovering our differences. The other half, is simply "Being"
who we are."
The minutes passed as Roo began to understand all that I had told him. As we sat
quietly, lost in our own self-discovery, enjoying the sunshine of our new day, we heard
singing come from the other side of the river.
Up from the opposite bank, we watched as Christopher Robin, Pooh and Tigger
approached.
"Hello Blue Eyes. Hello Roo." Pooh called out. "Look what we discovered in a tree."
From behind his back, Pooh pulled out a colorful kite, and let it glide up into the sky.
"Hello you three!" I said, waving at my friends.
Roo jumped to his feet and yelled out as loud as his squeaky voiced could manage,
"Look what I discovered today Pooh!"  Roo spun around and around, arms outstretched
and high over his head.
   " I discovered ME."
