"I have my books, and my poetry to protect me. I am shielded in my armour, hiding in my room, Safe within my womb, I touch no one And no one touches me. I am a rock, I am an island A rock feels no pain and an island never cries." -- Paul Simon |

Every minute of everyday we choose, who we are, who we forgive, who we defend and protect. To choose a side or to walk the line. To play the middle. To straddle the fence between what is and what should be. This was the course I chose. To find the delicate balance of interest that can never exist. Choosing by not choosing. Defending a center which cannot hold. So fate chose for me. It begins where it ends...in nothingness. A nightmare born from deepest fears coming to me unguarded, Whispering images unlocked from time and distance. A soul unbound - touched by others, but never held... On a course charted by some unseen hand. The journey ahead promising no more than my past reflecting upon me. Until at last, I reached the end, Facing a truth I can no longer deny. Alone, as ever. |

They know the world without even going out the door. They see the sky and it's patterns without even looking out the window. The further out it goes, the less the knowledge is; therefore sages know without going, name without seeing, complete without striving. ~Tao Te Ching~ |
